Dawn of War 2 - Retribution getting Dark Angels DLC chapter

The Dark Angels Space Marines chapter are coming to Dawn of War II - Retribution's multiplayer as a $7.50 DLC with unique new models.

The crusading Dark Angels will bring their quest for redemption to Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II - Retribution, publisher THQ announced today. They'll be released as a custom Space Marines chapter in paid downloadable content.

The Dark Angels Pack will be purely visual, adding eight new models for Space Marines in multiplayer and a custom paintjob for the rest of their units. The Force Commander becomes a Dark Angels Company Master with a fancy winged helmet, while Tac Marines don Dark Angels robes. Scouts, Assault Marines, Terminators, and Space Marine vehicles all also receive "chapter-specific revisions."

That's all, though--no gameplay changes.

The Dark Angels Pack is scheduled to launch on April 6, priced at $7.50.

        It is, isn't it?

I can't help but suspect they'd make a lot more money overall if they priced it lower.

At $1 or $2, it'd be in the "Sure, I like this game and that looks cool, so why not?" range.

At $7.50, it's largely for the hardcore and obsessives.

Which is a shame. I'd be really quite interested if they regularly released new chapters at impulse price.

I can't imagine anyone's particularly bothered by the comparison. While Internet messageboards were filled with fuming and raging over Oblivion's horse armour, the DLC still sold very well.

I simply think THQ and Relic could sell a lot more, and make a lot more, at a lower price.

I am a Dark Angels player in tabletop, and I most definitely would not buy this at its current price range.

This describes me perfectly and I am about as pro WH40K as you are going to find. $7 for skins? I don't think so. Alice is right. 2 dollars/pounds is what it should be. Anything above 5 and this isn't a casual or impulse purchase which is what they should be going for because that's what will achieve in the most downloads. $7.50 is 25% of Retribution's shelf price and these are just skins with no Dark Angels quest line or content. Relic is not this stupid. Someone at THQ needs their head examined.

This is exactly my thought as well. I'm a huge 40k and dow2 fan, square in the target market for this, but the price just does not fit my insta-buy range for what it is offering.

$2 for horse armor? Or doubling it to $4 on April Fools day a year or two later?

Oh who cares, it's just fashion statements. At least you're not buying units :V

I think it's fine. I don't like the prices but then again I don't care for the product either. That is, until there's a sweet new Tyranid skin :O

They should do a unique group for each race and package them all for $10. $7.50 for horse armor is pretty obnoxious.

THQ taking lessons from Games Workshop? This is the new horse armor.

And once again, my new years resolution to never buy a new game again until after it's end of life development period has passed pays off!
