A new Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet trailer has emerged from PAX East, showing ten minutes of gameplay from the gorgeous silhouetted scrolling shooter.

Developed by Fuelcell Games with artist Michel Gagné, Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet promises a mixture of "exploration, intense shooter action, and puzzle-solving," along with Dimmu Borgir tunes. And honking great tentacle beasts, of course.

Only an Xbox Live Arcade release has been confirmed so far, though Gagné previously teased "No one here is saying that there won't be a PC version." There's no word on a release date yet.

This game is definitely best played on xbox with a gamepad. You should get one seeing how cheep those are these days.

Doesn't look like it would be too bad with WASD and mouse aim, ala crackdotcom's Abuse

agreed...looks like mouse/kb would be just fine if not possibly better depending on control setup options. looks fantastic...wtb pc version for sure.

Yes I will go buy a $200 xbox just so I can play a $10 indie game. Common sense prevails.

Don't forget, Xbox is also a DVD player and can stream video and music off our PC.

Also like someone already said, there's a lot of of games on XBLA that are a lot of fun and don't cost much. Here's a list of some of my games, all of these are are no more than $15 and worth every penny: BC:Rearmed, Braid, Castle Crashers, Defense Grid, Duke Nukem 3D, Flotilla, Hydro Thunder, Limbo, Panzer General, Shadow Complex, Splosion Man, Super Meat Boy, Super Street FIghter 2 T HD, TMNT 1989 Arcade, Toy Soldiers, Trials HD, Misadventures of Winterbottom, Worms 2.

Half of these games like Defense Grid are not exclusive to a console, but I liked it so much on PC when it showed up on Live I bought it just so I could enjoy replaying through it in a comfort of my couch and big screen tv. It doesn't need precise pointing of a mouse and plays very nicely with a controller. But probably half of the games I own on Live are only available on a console and to me personally, just Hydro thunder and Trials makes it worth it. Loved Hydro Thunder on my Dreamcast, then my bro borrowed the console from me and lost it after he moved couple times.

These fun and different little games are why I love XBLA. Best reason to have an XBOX. Sure I could play this on PC but this is actually something that plays well to the console's strengths.

Great animation, effects and art style, but seriously, is every indie game doing the black foreground silhouette thing now?

If you consider the art requirements involved in texturing and everything else. Minimal effort is much better for indy groups. Not to say the art in these games is lacking as they use the art in different ways.

to be fair, the style of this game is based on the art of its creator, who has been making illustrations and short films with silhouettes for a long time (far longer than limbo was in development, for example).
