Evening Reading: Putting the Oughts to Bed
by Garnett Lee, Dec 31, 2009 6:00pm PSTIf you'd told me last New Year's Eve that a year later I'd be writing the last Evening Reading of the decade on Shacknews I'd probably have looked at you dumbfounded. Sitting here doing it this evening I couldn't be more pleased with how things have worked out. Getting reacquainted with Shack has been great. We've got a great team, a great community, and fantastic support to carry us into 2010 and well beyond.
We've been posting our games to look forward to in 2010 today. I'll have mine coming tomorrow along with a collection of our resolutions for the New Year. Hope you'll take a moment to check them out and add to the conversation when time allows. Have a fun and safe New Year's Eve whatever your celebration plans.
I'll leave you with this great quote my friend Sterling tweeted earlier today: "The world isn't coming to an end. It's already tomorrow in Australia."

I thought maybe since my plans fell through tonight sucks, I'd just do up a little thread here to see what your highlights and low lights were for both this past year and this past decade. I'll start it up.
Past Decade Good
- Went to school and got a degree and a diploma in Graphic Design.
- Got an awesome job evenbefore I finished school and haven't been out, yet (knock on wood)
- Managed to be completely independant.
Past Decade Bad
- Racked up $50k in school loans. ha
- Had my nearly 6-year relationship shit out on me last year.
- Lost nearly all my grandparents and great grandparents. One remains. :\
Past Year Good
- Got a huge raise and two bonuses at work
- Managed to travel a lot. New York City and London England.
- Bought myself a Macbook Pro and a new desktop Computer
Past Year Bad
- Didn't pay off as much school debt as I had hoped
- Went on a bunch of dates that turned up nothing.
- Never got to move out of this shitty apartment.
What say you, Shackfags? :D
