Natal Launch Details Emerge?
by Jeff Mattas, Nov 11, 2009 5:59pm PSTCiting various sources, MCV has exposed some unconfirmed information about Natal, Microsoft's upcoming controller-free Xbox 360 peripheral.
According to those that attended a closed-door tour of Microsoft's UK publishers and studios, the company plans to manufacture 5 million units for release day - a combination of peripheral-only and console-bundled versions.
The sources further claim that the potentially game-changing device is slated for a worldwide release in November 2010 alongside a library of 14 compatible games, with a retail price aimed at under 50 pounds (~$80) "when sold solo."

For those of us that have seen add-on, after add-on, over the years know were I'm coming from.
While this could add a level of depth to games, these things are never utilized well, and never go beyond the fad factor, and I don't hold much hope for that this will do either.
I believe MS was working on this for Windows machines when the gaming people snagged It? Do us a favor MS, and give It back to the Win people were something like this could be of value.
Does that price reflect a sub-par device that isn't going to work as well as advertised?
It's funny that my expectations are lowered substantially by the low price point. I would honestly feel better if it was $40 more and while I would grumble about the price I would do so internally because I feel the "worth" of that device to me *personally* could be up to $150 if it were to work as advertised and expected and received decent game support.
Or I can easily mod it to work with a Windows / Linux machine. :)
