This looks like EA is pushing to compete with GRID1/2. Might be a tad more realistic in the physics department though..

The physics are being done by Eero Piitulainen (of Richard Burns Rally fame).
And the development studio is basically the same development group that made GTR 1 and GTR Legends (while working for SimBin), and GTR 2 (while under the name of Blimey! Games). The lead is the same guy too, Ian Bell. He's not /the/ Ian Bell, BTW (apparently wikipedia used to have an article for "Ian Bell (game developer)" to reference this one vs "Ian Bell (programmer)").
They're promising that this will be the sim racer that has enough optional "driver's assists" to appeal to a mainstream audience and justify a huge budget, but is still a sim racer at heart (after a few settings tweaks). But on the other hand, that's what Codemasters said about GRID and DIRT, and I notice whenever it's EA speaking instead of Slightly Mad, they're playing down the Simulation-aspect. I don't know if that's a good sign or not. -
