Weekly PC Sales: Nancy Drew Returns with Valor
by Chris Faylor, Apr 22, 2009 8:04am PDTIt's been five months since one of Her Interactive's Nancy Drew games broke into the top ten, but the prodigal daughter has returned thanks to a cheap jewel case edition.
While Direct2Drive's top ten downloads packs several of that week's new releases, including The Chronicles of Riddick, only Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor managed to appear on both D2D's chart and NPD's list of top-selling games at US retailers.
It was also a week for returning vets, with Left 4 Dead and the StarCraft Battle Chest both re-appearing on NPD's weekly list, and Universe at War hitting D2D's due to a sale.
NPD's Top Ten (4/5 - 4/11)
- World Of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King / Blizzard / $36
- The Sims 2 Double Deluxe / EA Maxis / $20
- Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor / Relic / $29
- World Of Warcraft Battle Chest / Blizzard / $35
- Empire: Total War / Creative Assembly / $50
- Left 4 Dead / Valve / $31
- StarCraft Battle Chest / Blizzard / $15
- The Sims 2 Apartment Life Exp. Pack / EA Maxis / $20
- World Of Warcraft / Blizzard / $20
- Nancy Drew: Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake / Her Interactive / $7
Direct2Drive's Top Ten (4/6 - 4/12)
- Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor / Relic
- Final Fantasy XI Vana'diel Collection / Square Enix
- The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena / Starbreeze
- The Godfather 2 / EA Redwood Shores
- Company of Heroes Complete Bundle / Relic
- BattleForge / EA Phonemic
- Rome: Total War Gold / Creative Assembly
- Universe at War: Earth Assault / Petroglyph
- Fallout 3 / Bethesda
- Empire: Total War / Creative Assembly
Remember, NPD's data only accounts for traditional (non-download) retailers in the United States, while D2D's list is only representative of one digital download outlet.

Also, pick up #9 - Danger on Deception Island. That game is pretty awesome.
