Evening Reading

by Nick Breckon, Mar 06, 2009 4:01pm PST

My technical problems with Empire: Total War continue. After slogging through two minute AI turns on a top-of-the-line PC, I made it to turn 118, at which point the game crashed. "Oh well," I thought, as anyone who enjoys brilliant, technically-flawed PC games has said before. But of course my pain didn't stop there.

After getting back into the game, I hit the "end turn" button--only to find that the game had crashed again, at the same point during the Huron Confederacy's turn. After around 12 hours spent campaigning as the British, my progress has been completely halted by a bug that won't be fixed until next week, and perhaps not even then.

PC gaming!
