Prince of Persia DLC Not Coming to PC

The impending "Epilogue" downloadable level pack for Ubisoft Montreal's Prince of Persia will not heading to the PC, according to an Ubisoft representative.

"Unfortunately for business reasons we won't be seeing any PoP DLC appear [on the PC]," said Ubisoft community manager Chris "UbiRazz" Easton in a post found by BigDownload on the game's official forum.

"Sorry guys!" added Easton. Of course, "sorry" wasn't enough for PC fans of the game, who have already begun organizing a letter-writing campaign.

The Prince of Persia Epilogue DLC hits the PS3 and Xbox 360 on February 26.

hey, can't we make an online petition?
I mean, the pc owners deserve the same rights as console owners, it is not fair to play the game and not knowing how the story evolves just because we don't have ps3 or xbox.

Business reasons? You couldn't make a ill-earned buck out of it, you mean?

This DLC is an extra couple of levels no doubt re-using most of the textures and other assets already in the core game. In effect its little bigger than a bug fix patch, and and easier to make as it doesn't actually fix anything.

But then again, since when was the last time Ubisoft released a patch that fixed something that was broken anyway?

This is probably because PoP was pirated into the ground as a result of Ubisoft's experiment with no DRM or copy protection on the PC version.

I guess when he says "business reasons" he means "yeah, PC gamers are not dumb enough to pay for the last 5% of the game that we cut to release it later and make even more money".

BTW, Ubi, we are still waiting for the sales numbers?. Did the lack of DRM make a difference?. I guess it didn't, since if it had sold any less than expected at all, we would already have listened to the usual hysterics: "OMG!. PC gaming is dead!. Look, we took out the DRM and we only sold one copy!!!".

I can deal with there being no update, but what's really fucking irritating is how long they waited to tell us this. They hype up this update for ages and just before release they tell us it'll never be on PC?

Bummer...PoP turned out to be a surprise favorite for me last year. Ubi ironed out most of the frustration had from previous titles (annoying and repetetive combat, trial and error death/loading), where I could just focus on exploration, collecting and puzzle solving. The addition of Elika added a surprisingly nice 'Alyx' flair to the game. The audio and visual presentation was pretty stunning.

DLC would've been an absolute purchase for me.
