Lord of the Rings: Conquest Demo Hits Xbox Live

In celebration of the new year, developer Pandemic has released an Xbox 360 demo of its upcoming Tolkien-inspired battleground game, The Lord of the Rings: Conquest.

Released on PlayStation 3 last week, the 1GB demo allows players to pick a side, hop online and fight in 16-person battles for the future of Middle-earth. At present, only Xbox Live Gold members can download the demo from the Xbox Live Marketplace.

The Hobbit-slaying action game simply walks out of Mordor heads to retailers on January 13, and will be available for PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS.

    was looking forward to this one. worried about getting it for PC if there aren't enough long lasting servers :(

      I wasn't expecting this quite so soon. I'm cautiously optimistic though, and will try the demo tonight.

      I'm buying the PC version since I'm a LoTR whore. I think the issue is Pandemics games seem a little weak in the game play due to crossplatform development. We saw that with the Battlefront series. They weren't as exciting as the games designed exclusively for the PC such as the Battlefield or Jedi Knight series.
