For me, it'd be Wheel of Time. Incredible art design and use of sound (especially in The Ways]o), and even if it did play fast and loose with some details (ter'angreal are nowhere near as common in the books as in the game) it was an excellent game that never got enough love. Wish I could play it again ... one of my CDs is scratched beyond hope.

I'm trying to figure out something. In a world where Internet Explorer was not bundled with Windows, how could Opera, Firefox and such be distributed? All I can come up with is world wide cd distribution àla those anoying AOL CDs back in the day, but I'm sure there are plenty other obvious solutions I'm not seeing. I'm excluding selling boxed browsers because that doesn't really seem to make sense.
So, how would competitors, like Mozilla for example, distribute their software in a world where computers are sold without IE?

A year ago I was living in with a lot of people who had their finger on the pulse in terms of the electronic music scene. I have my ways for finding out about new rock music and hip hop, but I have a harder time finding a legit source for things like house music (probably due to the underground nature). People like DJ Heather, Terrence parker, Mark Farina, Stanton, people like that.
Is there a place anyone goes to regularly to read about stuff like this?

The All Ghillied Up part of CoD4 is pretty friggin' tense. I almost crapped my pants right at the start when McMillan stoof up in front of me. :(
Still doesn't hold a candle to the C-130H mission, but whatever.
Also, the nuke going off and the aftermath were pretty goddamed cool. Was I supposed to die there, though? I take it I am, but might replay that section for the hell of it later, since I like shooting mounted weapons, like the Mk19 and stuff.

I have a new quadcore system and am new to this whole multicore thing.. I am currently doing video encoding with tmpeg and it doesn't seem to fully utilize the four cores. In task manager it says that it only uses around 25 percent of it actually. The thread priority is set to normal. Why is this?
I have a widget for vista that shows the core utilization and they are at 20-50% max. is this because tmpeg isn't coded to use multiple cores (which I am not sure of)? When I play the witcher (which is not coded for multiple cores) the core utilization of core 1 is at 100%.
Any ideas?

is there an algorithm that will generate a random number based on two numbers?
we want to keep the two numbers secret but not care if the random number generated is obtained.
so basically take two secret numbers, generate a random number based on those and on the other end, a system use the same algorithm to take your two secret numbers and generate the same number to match it to you.

In Firefox 3 (currently at beta 2; code is frozen for beta 3), after you click a reply in any thread, the NEXT reply in that thread you click (and all further replies) will take you to a separate page with a single thread (like the old Threaded mode). This doesn't happen in Fx 2.
My concern is that this is a Firefox bug rather than a Shack comments bug; if it is, there may be time to fix it before Firefox 3 releases. But I don't know any JS so I don't know how to reduce the problem enough to know what's causing this.
Could one of you guys look into this enough to figure out where fault lies? If it's a Firefox bug, you can either file a bug at bugzilla.mozilla.org yourself or ask me to do it for you and I'll take care of it.
If it's a bug on the Shack end, I'm not going to pressure you guys to fix it because presumably you have better things to do with your lives at the moment, but that'd be good to know too.
