id Forms New Dev Team, Promises Free Quake 3
For the first time, id Software will be maintaining a second development team. The new group's first project will be Quake Zero, a free ad-supported version of the company's classic Quake 3 Arena.

id Reveals Rage for PC, Mac, PS3, and 360
id Software has released the first details on Rage, its new internally-developed project. In the works for PC, Mac, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, the game will feature vehicular gameplay and will draw from "road warrior" films such as Mad Max.

id Hits Steam, Xbox Live Arcade
Steam users can now use Valve's download service to purchase every id game ever released. The company also formally announced the rumored Quake Arena Arcade, which will bring Quake 3 Arena to Xbox Live Arcade.

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars Dated, Return to Castle Wolfenstein Movie Splash Damage's Enemy Territory: Quake Wars will be releasing for PC on October 2. In more surprising news, id has licensed development of a Return to Castle Wolfenstein feature film.
