Work @ Blizzard; On Diablo 3?

57

Blizzard's Employment Opportunities page was updated the other day, as the company is looking for several 3D artists. The job descriptions all specifically mention that the team behind Diablo 1 & 2 is looking for these reinforcements, with that team working on an "unannounced PC Project". The lead environment artist position calls for someone experienced with "modeling and texturing assets for a diverse visual range of environments" while a 3D character artist opening mentions the ideal candidate should be experienced with "modeling and texturing a diverse visual range of characters and creatures". There have been persistent rumors of Diablo 3 being developed, which wouldn't be much of a surprise considering the immense success of the previous installments. However Blizzard has remained tight-lipped. Thanks to GameSpot for the tip.

WoW 2 is comming with the expansion, and a little bit in every patch they put out.

Patch 1.10 will have weather effects which will make the graphics just that much prettier, and the expansion is supposed to increase the poly count and texture size again making the game look newer.

Why put out a new game when you can make your existing game look new?

And by fresh gaming you mean more of the same from the previous two?

You consider a third game in the Diablo series to be something fresh? Stop posting until you kick the crack habit. I'm as excited about D3 as the next buy but the inane WoW trolls need to give it a rest.

I would hardly call a new Diablo game, "fresh". Not unless it's something radically different from it's predecessors.
