Runbow Shines on Nintendo Switch in 2018

The race to the finish continues on!

Remember the old days when Runbow was a Wii U exclusive? Certainly a good idea on paper, but the folks at 13AM Games soon looked to expand beyond the Wii U's small install base. The multi-colored foot-racer has since found its way to PC and Xbox One, while Runbow Pocket landed on New Nintendo 3DS. But what about Nintendo, where the party first started? On Thursday morning, 13AM Games announced that Runbow is ready to make the jump to Nintendo Switch.

(Everyone pause for Reggie.)

Just as with recent versions of Runbow on other platforms, the Switch version of the game will come with all of the game's DLC packed in. This includes the numerous indie game cameos, the additional skins for Hue and Val, and also the Satura's Space Adventure single-player content. The original package, which centered around a chaotic footrace with up to eight other friends was a hit with Shacknews, with our original 2015 review continuing to hold up.

Runbow will sprint onto Switch in 2018, with Tokyo Game Show attendees able to try it out this weekend. For everyone else, let's just enjoy one of the original trailers below.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
