Nintendo delighted fans of the classic platformer and city-builder when they announced ActRaiser Renaissance, a remaster of the original game during its September Direct. What’s more, the game is out today on the Nintendo Switch.

“In ActRaiser Renaissance, strike down monsters in the side-scrolling action phase, Realm Acts, and cultivate lands in the world-building creation phase, Realm Management. Enjoy the much-loved original score and a rearranged soundtrack featuring new music. New stages and boss battles also await,” said Nintendo in its official announcement of the game. Fans excited to jump into ActRaiser Renaissance won’t have to wait long, as the game is hitting the Switch eShop today.

ActRaiser Renaissance is a full remaster of the 90s classic. There are new models, and upgraded visuals for the locations, characters, and creatures from the original game. In addition to the plethora of content found in the original, the remaster adds new stages, bosses, and music.

Other new features that fans of ActRaiser will be able to enjoy in Renaissance include expanded realm management and action gameplay. The game now features both auto-saves, as well as difficulty levels so that players can better tune their experience. The 15 new music tracks featured in the game were composed by Yuzo Koshiro, who worked on the original Actraiser.

ActRaiser Renaissance is available now on the Nintendo Switch eShop for $29.99 USD. It was just one of the many games that were revealed during the September 23 Nintendo Direct, which included Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and Chocobo GP.
