Sony may be looking to close its first-party developer Zipper Interactive, maker of the SOCOM series and MAG. According to the rumor, the studio is already in the process of being shut down, though Sony has yet to issue an official comment either refuting or denying the mounting speculation.
Zipper Interactive's Unit 13 won't quite be ready for the Vita launch--but it will be pretty darn close. Unit 13 will be available on Vita at retail and on PSN on March 6th.
Unit 13 is an online-enabled shooter that lets you play a variety of short missions. There are four mission types: Direct Action, Deadline, Elite, and Covert. While there is no online competitive play, unlike Zipper's other shooters, there is online co-op, and a persistent leaderboard that can be updated via 3G.
