Ace Combat Infinity preview: free-to-play done right

Perhaps the most impressive of Namco Bandai's upcoming free-to-play efforts is Ace Combat Infinity. It certainly doesn't hurt that Project Aces' PS3 game is absolutely gorgeous. Utilizing the latest version of their engine, it looks absolutely phenomenal. However, it also looks to offer a fully-featured campaign, with a free-to-play model that doesn't appear to be intrusive at all.

Ace Combat Infinity for PS3 is free-to-play

Namco Bandai's announcement of Ace Combat Infinity last month was pretty light on details, basically saying only that it's a downloadable PS3-exclusive shooty plane game. Well gosh golly, the publisher today announced it's actually free-to-play, and dropped a new trailer.

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon demo coming tomorrow

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon demo coming tomorrow

I called Ace Combat: Assault Horizon "absolutely thrilling" at E3--but I had trouble coming to grips with some of its controls. Tomorrow, you'll be able to take a test drive for yourself with a downloadable demo on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live.

The demo will be available on PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 13 and includes two missions from the single player campaign.
