LittleBigPlanet Hub announced, is free-to-play

Sony announced LittleBigPlanet Hub today, a free-to-play version of the creation-platforming game coming to PlayStation 3 later this year.

Hub offers the the first worlds from both LBP and LBP2, and a brand new exclusive level to play through. However, the meat of the experience is through creation. The entire "Create" mode of the original game, with players being able to buy additional content through the PlayStation Store. Given the amount of DLC available for LBP, it's not too surprising to see how a F2P version would work.

Tearaway preview: reaching into a new world

Tearaway preview: reaching into a new world

LittleBigPlanet is a hard act to follow. Media Molecule has been tasked with not only creating a new game that can match the same charm of their revolutionary platformer, but also craft an experience that takes full advantage of Vita's unique capabilities. With Tearaway, it looks like they'll make good on accomplishing both these lofty challenges.

In the world of Tearaway, you are a god. And we're not talking about the character that you control in the game. You, the player, are a god that the denizens of this papercraft world look upon. In fact, you can snap a picture of yourself at the game's beginning to cement your godly position.

After spending years on the LittleBigPlanet franchise, Media Molecule has revealed their next brand new IP: Tearaway, a paper world where you can help the hero Iota just by touching the back of your Vita.

Media Molecule co-founder Alex Evan announced the title at Sony's press conference at Gamescom. Using the Vita's touch capabilities, a player can tap the backside of the Vita to get Iota to jump, or maintain contact to push fingers into the game world to destroy enemies.
