Fans of bear-blasting strategy games rejoice, as EA LA's stand-alone PC expansion for Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 is slated to arrive as a download later today.

Priced at $19.95 and sold through the online EA Store, Command & Conquer Red Alert 3: Uprising contains four new mini-campaigns, one of which is a "dungeon-crawler style campaign" that details the origins of psychic Japanese schoolgirl Yuriko Omega.

There's also a new Commander's Challenge mode with 50 "over-the-top" scenarios, and new live-action cutscenes starring Ric Flair and Gemma Atkinson, among others.

Again, Uprising is a stand-alone expansion that does not require Red Alert 3 to play. The game will also be available via other, as-yet-unspecified digital distribution platforms.

Electronic Arts has announced more of the live-action cast for the first Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 expansion pack, which hits PC as a paid download this March.

Returning cast Gemma Atkinson and Ivana Milicevic are joined by newcomers Jamie Chung, wrestler Ric Flair, Malcolm McDowell, Jodi Lyn O'Keefe and Holly Valance.

"When I found out that EA wanted me to be part of Command & Conquer, all I could say was 'Woooooooooooo!'" exclaimed 16-time world heavyweight champion, Ric Flair.

Along with the new actors, the stand-alone Uprising expansion will deliver four mini-campaigns and a new Commander's Challenge mode to RTS players.

Red Alert 3 PC Expansion Priced, Detailed

According to a new Direct2Drive listing, the PC-exclusive, stand-alone expansion to EA LA's Red Alert 3 will cost a mere $20 when it is released this March.

The expansion pack, titled Uprising, will initially be available only through digital download services. Though Electronic Arts has not independently confirmed the figure, it previously hinted at a lower-than-typical price for the game.

"Part of the reason why we decided to become a digital download was so that we could pass some of the savings onto all of you out there," said EA community manager Apoc earlier this week. "We realize that times are tough, so we are making sure that Uprising will be a great value and something that any Command & Conquer fan can afford. More on the exact price in the weeks to come."

Rather than adding a fourth faction, Uprising will focus on new units and additional story, with a fourth mini-campaign centered around the commando Yuriko. While no co-op or multiplayer will be included, the skirmish mode will be bolstered with a "huge number of new maps." A new "Commander's Challenge" mode will provide a set of 50 mini-missions presenting various challenges.

Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 - Uprising Announced; Stand-alone Digital Download

The PC version of Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, released last October, will receive a digital download expansion this March, publisher Electronic Arts announced today.

Titled Uprising, the stand-alone expansion will offer four mini-campaigns for each faction, along with an additional campaign focusing on the origins of the Empire of the Rising Sun's commando Yuriko.

Command & Conquer Red Alert 3: Uprising also introduces the "Commander's Challenge". This feature will allow you to test your skills against a set of nine commanders from different territories and difficulty levels in 50 challenges, all with their own conditions and game rules.

Also look for new live-action cutscenes. Gemma Atkinson and Ivana Milicevic are among those actors returning; additional cast members will be announced soon.

"Uprising is a game that in many ways reflects the feedback we have gotten from the Command & Conquer community," said EA Los Angeles senior producer Amer Ajami.

"We're giving gamers more of what they want - more of the fast, fluid and fun gameplay, more of the story we began to tell in Red Alert 3 and more cutscenes featuring top-notch Hollywood talent. At the same time, we're excited we're going to be able to bring new things to the mix, including new units and the Commander's Challenge, which is a great way for players to hone their skills and get deeper into the combat."
