Neo Geo Classics Hitting PlayStation Network to Celebrate 20th Anniversary

To mark the twentieth anniversary of SNK's Neo Geo console launch, the company has announced that it'll release a selection of classic Neo Geo games for PlayStation 3 and PSP on the PlayStation Network, including Metal Slug and The King of Fighters '94.

Games will be updated with support for online multiplayer where appropriate. SNK also promises "a variety of features both hardcore fans and a new generation of NEOGEO gamers will be sure to appreciate."

SNK's 'NEOGEO Station' will offer a "continuously growing library" of Neo Geo games for $8.99 per title on PS3 and $6.99 on PSP. The launch lineup will hit PS3 on December 21 with the following ten games. Unless noted, they'll be released for PSP in January.

  • Fatal Fury (PSP 12/21)
  • Alpha Mission II
  • The King of Fighters '94
  • Samurai Shodown
  • Baseball Stars Professional
  • Magician Lord
  • Metal Slug (PSP 12/21)
  • League Bowling
  • Super Sidekicks
  • Art of Fighting
Keen-eyed PSP fans noticed back in June that a Neo Geo games category had been added to the handheld. Presumably, this is why.
