Uncharted 2 Getting More Competitive via DLC, Probably Not More Cooperative
A demo sampling the game's co-op and competitive multiplayer, but not its single-player campaign, is currently available as a free download in the PlayStation 3's online store.
"I'm not going to say never," Richmond added, offering a faint sliver of hope to cooperative enthusiasts. "But for the foreseeable future we're not going to be doing that."

Is the multiplayer actually any fun in this? I just can't summon up any interest for that aspect, though I'll be getting it for the SP.

Have you tried it? Demo's been out for a week now, and runs for one more week till release. Offers co-op, co-op arena, MP Deathmatch and MP Objective modes on 4 maps. It's quite fun, and the climbing/traversal mechanics of Uncharted really change the way the game is played (vs a typical 3rd person shooter).
It feels like playing Uncharted, but with other people. Maybe less cover-taking and more movement than in Uncharted 1, but it certainly has the same vibe. -

I'm a PC FPS player who never really liked playing shooters with a controller.
Uncharted 1 was probably my first console shooter which I owned and played through. I kinda got used to the controls and for the singleplayer, I don't think I felt that they gimped my ability to aim all that much.
In Uncharted 2 multiplayer, where precise aiming is more important (human enemies are a greater challenge than bots), playing with a controller is sometimes a bit of a problem. I'm level 10 now, so I've already played a bit. The game is fun for a console shooter, and the 3rd person view, the ability to climb up stuff and take cover is also interesting. What bothers me most is how long it takes to search for a game. Peer to peer sucks ass.
I'm buying Uncharted 2 for the singleplayer, but the multiplayer is a nice feature which I'll probably enjoy for a while, too, until Modern Warefare 2 comes out.
