Borderlands Screenshots: Lilith and Her Claptrap

Dancing robotic companion Claptrap and Lilith welcome you to the world of Pandora in the latest screenshots from Borderlands, meant to commemorate GamesCom 2009.

Developed by Brothers in Arms maker Gearbox, the cooperative Diablo-esque shooter hits PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 come October 20. For more on the game, including its use of procedurally generated weapons and foes, check out our E3 impressions.

    The cell-shaded style looks weird, it's like it's drawn on top of photorealistic textures, as an after-thought.

          Black border and cell shading are not the same thing. People got those 2 concepts confused in Crackdown as well as I recall.

          The textures are all hand drawn.

          It is a black border for stylistic purposes. I think it is an awesome art direction.
