BioWare MMO Set for 2009

16
BioWare's in-development massively multiplayer game, announced last year, is planned to release in 2009, reports business technology publication InformationWeek. The game is being produced by BioWare at its Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and Austin Texas offices, with BioWare Austin leading development.

No concrete gameplay or setting details have been divulged regarding the game, though technical director Bill Dalton spoke on some of the game's technical goals for world responsiveness. Using technology licensed from StreamBase in a deal announced this April, BioWare plans to "monitor and maintain the status of all players" in order to aggressively combat malicious behavior or the exploitation of bugs on the part of players. The StreamBase technology will also allow for the game's environment to respond to player action on a large scale, suggesting that BioWare might have large-scale interactions between the players and the world in the works.

BioWare has yet to announce target platforms for its MMO.

Yeah, it's going to be turn based and isometric and you can play as either a mechwarrior or an x-wing in a cyber/steampunk world.
