Patriots Win Super Bowl LI in Madden NFL 17 Prediction

If EA is right, quarterback Tom Brady will set another record this weekend.

Super Bowl Sunday is coming, and that means EA has simulated its traditional Super Bowl match-up to predict the winner. This year, the New England Patriots beat the Atlanta Falcons 27-24 in a nailbiter of a simulation game.

In the simulation, the two teams ended the first half with the Falcons leading 17-10. They lost that advantage in the second half, though, failing to score as the Patriots put another 10 points on the board in the third quarter. In the final quarter, the Falcons took the lead with another touchdown, only to be undone by a 4th down Patriots TD with only 20 seconds remaining.

The Madden Super Bowl prediction is generally pretty accurate, having correctly called 9 of the last 13 games. EA boasted that its last Patriots prediction was particularly spot-on, having nailed both the final score and New England's dramatic comeback from a 10-point deficit. While its call on the winners and losers is usually correct, though, it tends to be a little off in the fine details. However the game goes this Sunday, it probably won't follow the exact script of this prediction game. If its prediction proves true this year, though, quarterback Tom Brady will be the first to ever win five Super Bowls.
