As part of the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals program, HTC has stated VR for Impact. VR for Impact is a program that will fund and support virtual reality tech and content that demonstrates the ability to use the HTC Vive to create experiences that will transform our world.

Through VR for Impact, HTC is committing $10 million to industry partners and content developers that can use the Vive's room-scale VR to immerse people in storytelling, education, and training that will make a difference in their lives.

Right now, HTC is taking submissions for ideas for its VR for Impact program through the VR for Impact website. The first winners of the VR for Impact submissions will be announced on April 22, Earth Day 2017.

Virtual reality is evolving into a standard that is slowly revolutionizing gaming experiences, and it's apparent that there is plenty of possibilities for VR to impact other areas of our lives in the near future. We'll get to see just what the best submissions for VR for Impact are on April 22.
