Suda51 wants to create a console-defining game for the Nintendo Switch

Much like he did with No More Heroes for Wii U

Goichi Suda, aka Suda51, likes to push the envelope. No More Heroes for the Wii U did some fun things for the action space, and now he is hoping to do something similar with the upcoming Nintendo Switch.

"Nintendo always makes really cool, interesting hardware that gives us new things to do," he told VG247 in a recent interview. "On the Wii, not to brag, but I feel that I made a game that used that Wii technology in one of the best ways. I want to find a cool new way to play using what Switch offers.”

While there are plenty of changes happening in the industry, Suda said that he is more focused on his team at Grasshopper Manufacture.. “I like the idea of small teams,” he said. “I don’t really think so much about the industry at large or Japanese game development… I try to think more directly about what Grasshopper is going to do, how we’re going to respond to things.”

Suda is curently promoting the remake of his PS1 game, The Silver Case, which has proven popular in Japan. The game is much more nuanced than some of his other in-your-face bloody titles like No More Heroes, Killer7, and his current title Let It Die, which had a highly successful PC launch last month. It is coming to PS4 in April.

Sounds like a grand idea. Not sure if he can do it but I'm all behind more Switch software.

Yeah, for the most part, Nintendoland originally, and Mario Kart 8 was definitely a big highlight.

No More Heroes was a Wii game, not a Wii U game...

Yeah, Grasshopper doesn't have any Wii U titles, just some 3DS eShop exclusives.

I hear you can get screenshots on the internet now. They don't seem to have any problem plucking random Youtube videos to "review" physical products, so grabbing screenshots from Google image search shouldn't be an issue.
