Pokemon Go offering extra bonuses until November 11

Bonuses on top of daily bonuses? It's a bonus bonanza!

Niantic is rolling out daily bonuses for Pokemon Go, and to celebrate, the developer will offer extra bonuses (bonus bonuses!) until November 11.

"To celebrate this feature, from November 7th to November 11th, you’ll find more Pokemon out in the world. Moreover, PokéStops will grant more items! Yes — this means more Great Balls, and for Trainers that are level 20 and above — more Ultra Balls," per a development blog.

Niantic implemented daily bonuses as a way to incentivize players returning to Pokemon Go each day. Catching a Pokemon rewards you with XP and Stardust, and you'll get extra quantities of both if you capture a Pokemon once a day for seven consecutive days.

Pokemon Go has been a roaring success, but it's been through ups and downs over the past few months. Active players dropped by over 75 percent; at the same time, it earned $600 million in revenue faster than any mobile game to date.

The game regained the coveted number-one spot on Apple sales charts following a Halloween update.

Pokemon Sun and Moon, the next main entries in Nintendo's and The Pokemon Company's long-running series, are due out for 3DS on November 18. Producer Junichi Masuda said that while Pokemon Go's success did not directly influence the feature sets of the 3DS games, he expects them to sell more than to Go's global popularity.
