Sid Meier's Civilization 6 launches this Friday, October 21, and Firaxis' launch trailer celebrates the occasion by featuring a man touring some of the world's most notable civilizations.

One of the most apt launch trailers in recent memory, Civilization 6's latest cinematic shows a man traveling the world and partaking in civilizations throughout history—exactly what you'll be doing starting this Friday, and as you've done countless times (and turns) before.

Firaxis has done its due diligence in preparing veteran and green players for the sixth numbered entry in Sid Meier's beloved turn-based-strategy franchise. Each civilization will have two world leaders for you to choose from, each with unique perks and drawbacks, and Sean Bean of Game of Thrones and Goldeneye 007 fame will narrate the tech tree to give you an overview of the developments you'll make while paving your path to fame or infamy.

Based on Shacknews' preview by contributing editor John "Keefinator" Keefer, Civilization 6 is shaping up to be another fan-favorite entry in the franchise. "As you can see, I'm no expert at Civ 6, but coming in as a player who loves the series and is rediscovering it, the game is familiar and fun with a bunch of different layers and changes that make it distinctly better than Civ 5, and even more of a throwback to some of the earlier Civ games," he wrote.
