Gears of War 4 Double XP Event extended after servers go down

The Coalition have extended Gears of War 4's Double XP event in light of its servers being down for hours last night.

The Coalition announced the first double XP event for Gears of War 4 would be taking place over the weekend, but due to some unexpected server issues yesterday evening, the studio has decided to extend it to tomorrow.

The double XP event is only available for two game modes: Versus Social and Horde. Those who play either game mode will be able to earn double the amount of experience points, thus allowing them to level up at a faster rate.

While you can play either game mode to earn experience points, we recommend taking advantage of the double XP points in Horde mode. While you’ll earn experience points to level up your profile, you’ll also be able to level up your Horde classes faster. This is what we call in the industry “killing two birds with one stone.”

Gears of War 4 easily impressed us as we strongly feel it’s the best the series has ever been, and while we’re still bummed to hear PC and Xbox One cross-play doesn’t support Versus modes,at least The Coalition is listening to our feedback and making tweaks to the game on a regular basis.

Now if only it would make it possible to earn experience points when playing Gears of War 4's Campaign.
