Plenty of brick-and-mortar shops are holding midnight launches for Sony's PlayStation VR headset, but Amazon will be stocking more pre-orders on its store page beginning at midnight Eastern / 9:00 pm Pacific tonight.

As of this writing, Amazon is fresh out of both the Core Headset and Launch Bundle. Bookmark the store page and prepare to refresh like mad if you want to have PSVR delivered to your doorstop anytime soon.

Although the Core Headset bundle costs less, the Launch Bundle packs in everything you need—and would end up having to buy if you opted for a Core Headset instead. Specifically, the Core set costs $399 and includes the headset, cables, stereo headphones, and a demo disc; the Launch set costs $499 and includes everything found in the Core bundle, plus two PlayStation Move controllers, one PlayStation VR Worlds demo disc, and a PlayStation Camera, which is required to use PSVR.

Shacknews editor-in-chief has spent some time with a PSVR and came away impressed. In his review-in-progress, he called the headset "promising and "nicely designed and easy to use, which goes a long way for the average consumer who just wants a simple VR solution. Look for further thoughts on the device itself, as well as its launch library, in the coming days."
