Carmageddon: Max Damage is now available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 at major retailers including GameStop, Best Buy, Target, and Wal-Mart. The game costs $39.99 and is the latest installment in the vehicular combat series that originated on PC in 1997.

A collaboration between U&I Entertainment, Stainless Games, and Sold Out Sales and Marketing, Carmageddon: Max Damage takes place across a series of racing events where bulldozing over pedestrians and destroying property is just as important as crossing the finish line.

"Carmageddon: Max Damage is a cult classic vehicular mayhem series that gives mature audiences the perfect outlet to wreak havoc straight from the master minds at Stainless Games," said Martin Hawk, CEO, U&I Entertainment. "We are eager to offer gamers in North America the opportunity to pick up the game from any retail location starting today.

Although the game's successful Kickstarter promised a PC release, no word on a release date for that platform was provided in our press release.

Carmageddon: Max Damage features a campaign spanning more than 60 events and new options such as the ability to repair anytime, even while in motion, as well as real-time destruction in over 12 maps.
