Psyonix has announced Rocket the biggest update to ever come to Rocket League, bringing new arenas, items, and various improvements on June 20.

The Neo Tokyo update will be spearheaded by an arena that credits its inspiration from cyberpunk dystopias that were made popular in the 1980s. It was originally released as part of the Rocket Labs experimental playlist and is a reimagined version of the multi-tiered Underpass stadium and is filled with streamlined gameplay improvements within a highly-detailed environment.

The Neo Tokyo update also introduces the start of Season 3 for Competitive Playlists, an expanded item drop system, new quick-chat customization options, new post-game celebrations, the Pillars experimental Arena, an in-game Showroom, and new trophies and achievements across all platforms.

Shortly after the update releases, two Neo Tokyo-inspired premium cars will be available first to Rocket League Collection’s Edition owners on July 5. The two vehicles will be available on July 18 for $1.99 per car. The vehicles, known as Esper and Masamune, are a pair of futuristic vehicles that will bring a distinctive anime style to Rocket League’s collection of drivable vehicles.
