Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon announced on Twitter that the worldwide reveal of Injustice 2's gameplay will take place this Saturday, June 11, at 5pm Pacific during the Mortal Kombat X eSports Finals.

You'll be able to watch the premiere on NetherRealm's Twitch channel, twitch.tv/netherrealm.

Not much is known about how Injustice 2's gameplay will distinguish itself from the first game, aside from a new mechanic called armor. Armor builds up as characters wallop each other, ostensibly adding to their defense or letting them unleash a powerful attack.

Injustice 2 information has been flying faster than a speeding bullet. Images of promotional posters sent to retailers as pre-order bonuses leaked out just a couple of days ago. Quick as a Flash, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios confirmed the game's development just a day later on June 8.

Both studios plugged the size of the roster, purportedly the "biggest DC roster ever." Confirmed characters include Batman, Flash, Superman, Supergirl, and new arrivals such as villains Atrocitus and Gorilla Grodd.

Injustice 2 will be released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC in 2017. An exact release date has not been announced, but NetherRealm has a thing for April releases, likely due to fiscal planning and a desire to get its games in the hands of pro players ahead of the annual EVO summer tournament.
