Hot on the heels of its Dark Souls 3 release date announcement, Bandai Namco has announced a beta will be taking place in the US to help stress the game’s network.

The Network Stress Test will allow players to test out Dark Souls 3 prior to its official launch, which will then, in turn, assist From Software. The test is meant to improve the quality of Dark Souls 3 and will be completely free to partake in.

From Software has outlined the concept behind this Network Stress Test, which is being conducted to evaluate the load of the game servers, check the game system and balance, and eliminating any bugs that pop up in the process. As this test is based on an unreleased game, those who partake in the test should prepare to run into bugs or other issues as you play.

Those interested in taking part in Dark Souls 3’s stress test can sign up on its official website starting tomorrow morning at 8am PT / 11am ET. The stress test itself is planned to begin on October 4th at 8am PT / 11am ET.
