Studio Wildcard has announced it is currently developing an open-world dinosaur survival game called ARK: Survival Evolved for the PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One and will launch on Steam’s Early Access starting June 2.

ARK: Survival Evolved has players waking up naked and hungry on the beach of a mysterious island among other equally confused humans. They need to hunt, harvest, craft, research technology, and build shelters in order to survive against the elements, dangerous wildlife, and potential enemies. Players will also be able to tame and ride one of the 60 dinosaurs and other primal creatures that roam the land, sea, underground, and air. These include the Pterodactyl, Raptor, Brontosaurus, and T-Rex.

ARK: Survival Evolved uses RPG elements that allow Humans to build up their strengths, gain items, skills, and pet creatures as well as start a tribe of hundreds of other players to survive and dominate competing tribes. Players will need to work together to accumulate resources, experience, respawn points, and to help construct villages and cities.

ARK: Survival Evolved is scheduled to launch in early 2016 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam, which will support thorough integration of Steam community features including Steam Economy and Steam Workshop.
