After several months after its leak, Square Enix has finally announced Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster will be releasing on the PlayStation 4 on May 12.

The news comes from Square Enix’s official Twitter account which unveiled the game late last night. Those who pre-order the upcoming PS4 release will be treated to a free desktop calendar featuring the artwork of Yoshitaka Amano.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster was released on both PlayStation 3 and PS Vita in early 2014 and featured enhanced graphics, rearranged soundtracks, and a number of additional tweaks to the original games. Square Enix didn’t go into what we could expect from the PlayStation 4 version, although I’d be surprised if it was anything more significant than what was already done with the remaster.
