Prepare to take your amiibo on the road as Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS is getting amiibo support starting tomorrow, according to NintendoLife.

The website claims to have received an official PR email saying the free update will be going live tomorrow. The email says “A free update will also be released on 10th February for Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS that will enable amiibo from the Super Smash Bros. Collection to be used with the new systems.”

If you just jumped in excitement at the prospect of being able to use your amiibo with your 3DS you should know that the current line of 3DS don’t have NFC built into them. The New 3DS XL is the only handheld that has NFC built into it, and that sucker will be releasing on Friday. Wondering if it’s worth the upgrade? Then check out our review here.
