      Thanks for tackling my off-topic hypothetical. You all had some very creative ideas! I especially enjoyed the rocket ship idea.

      Here's how I'd do it:

      Spend the hour altering my appearance as much as possible, then join the search teams that go out looking for me. Hide in plain sight :-)

        Damn! That's a great idea.

        My wife had a similar solution. She said she'd go to Japan and dress up in cosplay with one of those anime girl masks. She claims no one would think it's weird over there, although I think 20+ hour trip to Japan from NYC wouldn't work because those on the flight would nab her during travel.

          My wife and I were more trying to figure out what circumstance would lead to the hypothetical. Our best story was that the aliens give humanity a 5-day deadline to turn you over, or they'll blow up the planet. However, you're the only one who knows how to stop them, and if you turned yourself in they'd blow up the planet anyway.
