Firmware update 1.70 adds a number of big features to PlayStation 4--notably, a robust video editing app and game pre-loading. Sony has announced that the firmware update will be available on April 30th.
While the announcement was made via PlayStation Europe's Twitter, firmware updates typically go live worldwide simultaneously.
The full list of features for 1.70 has yet to be revealed, but it also turns off HDCP protection, and enables video export to external drives--two features perfect for dedicated video recording enthuisasts.
I doubt that light uses much power at all.
