An image promoting the upcoming PlayStation Now service may have given us a better idea of what to expect from its pricing structure. If the prices turn out as shown on the image, we may see streaming PS3 games going for as little as $4.99.
The prices come from an image on the official Gaikai (via VG247) site. In the last slide, which touts the service being used as the backbone for PlayStation Now, we can see prices attached to a few games. Uncharted 3 is listed at $4.99 while Far Cry 3 is listed at $5.99. Each price is marked with a blue triangle that looks markedly different than the PlayStation Plus logo, which also offers special pricing in a similar fashion.
These could be simple placeholder prices, of course, but it may give us a better idea of the ballpark Sony is aiming for. Each price says "Full Game" next to it, so presumably these aren't rental prices. Shacknews has contacted Sony and will update as more information becomes available.
