"When two game companies love each other very much, a magical thing happens. ATLUS and Spike Chunsoft didn't use protection when localizing and publishing together and are now the proud parents of the turn-based RPG Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars."
Talk about a press release. That turned up in our inbox today, promoting the new JRPG for 3DS and Vita. Our heads were filled with tons of questions, notably "how did we miss a game called Conception being made?"
Although there's a number 2 in the title, this is actually the first game in the series to be picked up for localization. Thankfully, it's a standalone story.
In Conception 2, players assume the role of a Disciple-in-training, gifted with the power of the Star Gods. "Disciples will have to combine their powers to 'create' Star Children who can fight for them in battle," Atlus' release says. "Let's put it this way... it brings a new meaning to the phrase 'after-school activities.'" All we did after school was go to the library, so we're assuming there's innuendo here we're not picking up on.
The game will be available on 3DS and Vita in Spring 2014. It'll retail for $40.
