Disney Infinity has sold more than one million of its starter sets since its August launch, and the individual toy sets are said to be selling very well. When it comes to particularly popular figures, Disney boasts they tend to sell out in only a few days.
"All indications suggest the strong demand for Disney Infinity will continue," Disney CEO Bob Iger said in an earnings conference call yesterday (via GameSpot). The success of Disney Infinity helped the Disney Interactive gaming division hit a profit in the fourth quarter. It made an income of $16 million for the period, up from a loss of $76 million last quarter. Interactive also saw improvement for the full year, up 26% to $1.1 billion, thanks to its console and mobile games.
Disney Infinity's starter set costs $75 and comes with three figures: Mr. Incredible, Sully, and Jack Sparrow. Like Skylanders, though, it offers a large array of extra toys and playsets, based on other Disney properties like Cars, The Lone Ranger, and most recently, Nightmare Before Christmas.
