Weekend Confirmed 175 - Saints Row: The Third, Disney Infinity

By Ozzie Mejia, Jul 26, 2013 11:00am PDT

Jeff Cannata is still in the outback, learning to play the didgeridoo. That leaves host Garnett Lee back at the homestead with The Escapist's Andrea Rene and Shacknews' Andrew Yoon and Ozzie Mejia to continue bringing you the best in games. This week, Garnett discovers Saints Row: The Third for the first time and he tells you why he's not completely enthused by it. Talk shifts to the upcoming Super Smash Bros. and Nintendo's bizarre aversion to YouTube, before Andrea talks about some of the big games on-hand at this year's San Diego Comic-Con. The show ends with a big discussion about the Xbox One's recent policy announcements before sending you into the weekend with a new round of Finishing Moves.

  • I gained a great deal of respect towards Andrew this week.

I almost turned this episode off several times but props to Andrew for trying his best to keep the show on track by doing all he could to keep the discussion and focus of the show on games. If it wasn't for him this would have honestly been the first Weekend Confirmed since the launch of the podcast that I would have not finished.

    • I totally agree. I signed up today after hearing the podcast because, despite being a loyal listener and a fan of the show, I found most of the podcast pretty unbearable. Thankfully Andrew was there like you say to keep things grounded. I've been looking for a comment so I wouldn't have to repeat it but your absolutely right. I don't feel that Andrea or the other guy were necessarily bad but Garnett seemed particularly unbearable. Especially in his rudeness to Andrea (I know they're friends but it just felt awkward and so not enjoyable). When Jeff returns it will likely remain grounded. I'm all for having a good time but just because you are, doesn't necessarily mean that my ears are. Still love Weekend Confirmed though! and hopefully Garnett won't hate me because he seems to be a genuine kind of guy who takes the comments seriously and with sensitivity and that's a good trait to have! (Nice way of redeeming myself)
