NBA Live 14 seems to be really happening this time, as EA has picked out a cover athlete and everything. The franchise will return with Kyrie Irving gracing the cover, the Cleveland Cavaliers guard who was named an NBA All-Star in 2013.
Irving was the first overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft, and named the Rookie of the Year for the following season. He also made the 2012 NBA All-Rookie First Team, and is the current champion of the Three-Point Shootout. So he's very accomplished, but EA's basketball series has been on hiatus for his entire professional career until now.
This will also mark the first appearance of NBA Live on the next-generation, promising better ball physics and more precise controls. It will use the new Ignite engine, which you can now see here:
