Pikachu 3DS XL coming March 24th
by Andrew Yoon, Mar 14, 2013 12:00pm PDTThere are 646 Pokemon (and rising). Yet, Pikachu has managed to maintain its star status over the years, even as new pocket monsters vie for popularity.
Pikachu will be the star of an upcoming limited edition 3DS XL. The "Pikachu Edition" system will be available on March 24th, featuring a bold yellow color and the "familiar outline" of the iconic mascot. Packaged with a 4GB SD card, the system will be available for $199.99, the price of a standard 3DS XL.
The launch of the "Pikachu Edition" system coincides with the launch of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity. Buying the system and the game will entitle you to download an additional game through this Club Nintendo promo. You'll be able to choose from Super Mario 3D Land, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone!, Star Fox 64 3D, or Freakyforms Deluxe: Your Creations, Alive!
