Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag confirmed by box art
by John Keefer, Feb 28, 2013 6:00am PSTUbisoft has revealed that Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag does indeed exist, releasing European pack shots for the game for PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U. This confirms marketing materials and a map leaked over the last few days.
While few details are known, the pack shot shows an Assassin wielding a pistol and cutlass, with an Assassins-style pirate flag flying in the background. The PS3 box also reveals that Ubisoft will be offering an extra hour of exclusive content, in the same way it did with Assassin's Creed 3's Benedict Arnold story line.
The Examiner reports that the lead protagonist will be Connor's grandfather, Edward Kenway, a "privateer, assassin and occasional pirate." Based on the leaked map, the setting is expected to be the Caribbean around 1715.
