Nintendo held another Nintendo Direct presentation in Japan early this morning. It was mostly light on new game announcements, but it did reveal that the 3DS eShop will be getting two classic Zelda games. The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and its twin, Oracle of Ages, are coming to the handheld Virtual Console.
Joystiq reports that following the announcement of a Japanese release on February 27, series producer Eiji Anouma took to the Zelda Miiverse page to point out that it will come to North America sometime later. "The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons/Oracle of Ages will be released for Virtual Console on Nintendo 3DS in Japan," he said, "but it'll be a little while longer till the're out in other territories. We''d like to ask for your patience until they're ready for release. Thank you!"
The Oracle games will be released individually in Japan at first, but also in a combined pack. The two Capcom-developed titles are meant to work in tandem, even consisting of similar world layouts with one relying on a season-changing mechanic and the other on time travel. The original games also featured the ability to use a password found in one game to get an extended ending in the other.
