Activision making Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games
by Alice O'Connor, Feb 07, 2013 8:15am PSTThey're heroes in a half-shell, but with a twist: they're green. Those Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are returning to video games after an absence of, oh, only a few years, as Activision today announced it's licensed the reptiles to star in interactive games you can play on video gaming devices.
Nickelodeon's new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series is the inspiration, not the honestly-kind-of-slow cartoon from your childhood, the comic books, action figures, or movies. What games are coming for which platform, and other actually useful information, is secret for now.
"We are confident that these upcoming games will take gamers through interactive environments and action-packed adventures that truly capture the essence, tone and exciting elements of the Turtles," Sherice Torres, Nickelodeon Consumer Products senior VP of entertainment products, said of the upcoming products in today's announcement concerning the products.
Here's what the current incarnation of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles looks like:
