Guild Wars 2 'Flame and Frost: The Gathering Storm' coming February 26
by Steve Watts, Feb 07, 2013 7:30am PSTThe second part of Guild Wars 2's Flame and Frost event, subtitled "The Gathering Storm," will release on February 26. The four-part event seems poised to dole out story bits over the next few months, which will give ArenaNet impetus to keep creating new gameplay features to accompany each part.
The additions to The Gathering Storm, as detailed on the official site, focus heavily on PvP and group missions. It will add a new PvP map called "Spirit Watch," which sounds like a capture-the-flag mode -- or capture the Orb of Ascension, as the case may be. You can also get into quick, two-team rated PvP matches.
Guild Missions focus on coordinating with your group, asking the players to work together to solve puzzles, perform cross-country challenges, or claim bounties. This will earn you Guild Merits for upgrades. Finally, the update will add a selectable achievement system, letting you pick a set of daily challenges that fit your play style.
