Looks like the cat got out of the bag a bit early. CD Projekt Red was due to announce a new game today, largely believed to be a sequel to our 2011 Game of the Year. The newly-released digital issue of Game Informer has revealed The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. As expected, it represents the series' move into the next generation.

According to the magazine, the upcoming sequel will be a "truly open world," with a world that is supposedly larger than the one featured in Skyrim. The new adventure will run on REDengine 3 and will be coming out on "all top-of-the-line" consoles, meaning this will likely make an appearance on both the next PlayStation and the next Xbox systems.

More details are sure to be revealed tomorrow, when the game is officially announced.

Thank you for that little tid-bit, since the shack couldn't be bothered to post any details.

I think what the shack meant by the last sentence is that more details are sure to be revealed on another site yesterday, instead of tomorrow.

I played the intro once and I kinda went "meh", and I think some other big game came out around the same time so I played that instead and totally forgot about it.

Amazing games, take your time with them and don't push to beat them as quickly as possible.

part one will test some peoples patience, part 2 is much more accessible. both are great(i actually prefer the first one one in some aspects) .
if you cant be bothered to play the first for some reason go directly to the second one. it is the best looking game available and basically the goldstandard of narrative driven rpgs.

I wanted to like the first, and even enjoyed the first chapter, which most people found boring, but the narrative became such a mess and the pacing was so poor, and that swamp was so tedious, that I never finished, though I was in the final act. I still need to play W2.

This sounds ridiculously ambitious. How the fuck is CD Projekt Red going to pull off a world larger than Skyrim, but as detailed as The Witcher 2's?
