Madden NFL 13 predicts Baltimore Ravens to win Super Bowl
by Steve Watts, Jan 28, 2013 10:30am PSTCall your bookies. EA has issued its annual Super Bowl prediction based on a simulation run in the current version of its long-running Madden series. According to Madden NFL 13, the Baltimore Ravens will squeak out a Super Bowl win against the San Francisco 49ers with a final score of 27-24.
Madden predictions tend to be fairly accurate, having called seven of the last nine games correctly. For example, the sim correctly predicted the Giants' victory in last year's game. EA also brags that it was only two points away from the exact final score of the 2009 Super Bowl, but more often than not their points breakdowns are a bit off. That's partly because the simulation shows such specific detail. In the case of Ravens-49ers, it predicts a Ravens 17-10 lead at halftime and a last-minute interception to prevent the 49ers from scoring a game-winning touchdown. Whatever does happen, it probably won't be exactly like that.
